The largest tree print I’ve made so far, this slice of Douglas Fir (#2) is from the same fallen tree as the popular Douglas Fir Sunrise Over the Pacific! , but it’s several inches larger in diameter and did not split when drying because I left the slice about 12 inches thick.
This first print from this slice is on a full 25”x37” sheet of tan Korean Hanji paper (can be cut down upon request to 24”x36” or 24”x24” square). I used a solid blue ink with a fairly light application, making it a detailed and delicate print of a beautiful cross section with almost perfectly circular rings!
