OR Coast Douglas Fir - Split Color (Multiple Options) 24"x30"
24”x32” large print of this split piece of Doug Fir, in a variety of split-color combinations (See photos and options).
I came across this log of Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) in the Coast Range of Oregon. I love the nearly perfect circle uniform rings in this log, and I have a few slices of it cut to different thicknesses to allow some different cracking/checking patterns to occur. This slice was cut relatively thin, and it ended up cracking in a full split when it dried, inspiring a series of split-color prints that tend to take on a landscape vibe with the split acting as a horizon line. Also see the Douglas Fir Sunrise Over the Pacific!
